Tower Hamlets is an inner east London borough where rents are above the London average around Canary Wharf and the riverside, though more moderate in parts of Bethnal Green and Bow further inland. The borough covers a relatively small area but contains a striking range of housing and rent levels within it.
The borough has a striking mix of housing, from converted Victorian terraces in Bethnal Green and Bow, to former warehouses around Wapping and Shadwell, and high-rise new-build apartments clustered around Canary Wharf and the Isle of Dogs, which together give Tower Hamlets one of the most varied housing stocks of any London borough.
Canary Wharf, Bethnal Green, Bow Road and Whitechapel stations, along with the Jubilee, Central and District lines, the DLR and the Elizabeth line, give the borough some of the strongest transport connections in London, so tenants include a large number of professionals working in financial and professional services around Canary Wharf, alongside families and sharers in the more residential streets further west.
For a landlord, the concentration of office-based employment around Canary Wharf means demand for flats in that part of the borough is closely tied to the financial sector, while houses and conversions further inland tend to appeal to a more settled, family-based market, so the two ends of the borough can behave quite differently. The Isle of Dogs peninsula has seen the most intense concentration of new-build towers in recent years, while streets just inland retain a much more traditional, low-rise character.
Brick Lane and Spitalfields, on the boroughs western edge, retain a strong market and food culture that draws visitors from across London, while Victoria Park, one of the oldest public parks in the country, gives residents of Bow and Bethnal Green a substantial area of green space close to home.

Finding your tenant
We manage, we do not let. When your property is empty we appoint one of the best letting agents in your area to find the tenant. Their fee is agreed with you in writing before anything starts, and Caso adds nothing to it. We brief the agent, approve the marketing, check every applicant's referencing, handle the move-in and protect the deposit. You deal with one company throughout.
- Agent chosen on results, not on who we know
- Fee agreed in writing before marketing starts
- Caso takes nothing from the agent
